# Desktop viewers

## Overview

Breakroom provides desktop application installers for both Windows and macOS. When users log in through your dedicated Breakroom viewer, there are no additional access fees above the cost of their [seat](https://docs.breakroom.tech/opening-the-doors/seats-and-concurrency)—which means that you won't need to dip into your pool of [World Credits](https://docs.breakroom.tech/opening-the-doors/world-stream/purchasing-and-managing-world-credits). However, users will need to install the Breakroom app on a computer equipped with [hardware](https://docs.breakroom.tech/help/system-requirements) that can effectively render 3D Worlds.

## An important note concerning voice chat <a href="#an-important-note-concerning-voice-chat" id="an-important-note-concerning-voice-chat"></a>

Voice capabilities are currently restricted by login method. This means that if one user is logged in via [World Stream](https://docs.breakroom.tech/opening-the-doors/world-stream) and another user is logged in via the desktop app, they will not be able to hear each other over voice chat, even if they are standing in the same Region.

Users who log in via the same method can communicate freely. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you take this into consideration when planning your events, and require *all* guests to use either World Stream or the desktop app.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to provide a solution soon.

## Downloading the application installers

You can find your custom application installers on the [Dashboard](https://docs.breakroom.tech/building-new-worlds/breakroom-dashboard-tour). Once you're logged in, click the **Download App button** in the tab header, or navigate to the **Your Apps tab**.

After you finalize your subscription purchase, it will take 48 hours for Breakroom to generate app installers for your world. Once your installers are ready, they will be added to the **Dashboard > Your Apps tab**, where you can download one or both installers by clicking the **Windows** or **macOS buttons**. We also provide download links that you can distribute to your users.

## Installing the desktop application <a href="#installing-the-desktop-application" id="installing-the-desktop-application"></a>

Breakroom's desktop viewer represents a major graphics and performance upgrade compared to [World Stream](https://docs.breakroom.tech/opening-the-doors/world-stream). For best performance, you will need a PC or laptop that is capable of running 3D worlds. For maximum performance, we recommend using a machine with a dedicated graphics card. Please review our [system requirements](https://docs.breakroom.tech/help/system-requirements) for more information.

To install the desktop viewer, follow the steps below.

1. Download the correct installer (Windows or macOS) for your computer.
2. Locate the installer on your hard drive, and double-click on it.
3. Follow the installer prompts.

## Re-creating your installers <a href="#re-creating-your-desktop-application-installers" id="re-creating-your-desktop-application-installers"></a>

If you decide to update any custom [branding images](https://docs.breakroom.tech/creating-custom-experiences/branding-tools) associated with your World, or if you [rename](https://docs.breakroom.tech/building-new-worlds/breakroom-dashboard-tour#world-customization) your World as a whole, you will need to create and distribute fresh desktop app installers in order to push those changes to your users.

To update your desktop application installers, follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to your [Dashboard](https://docs.breakroom.tech/building-new-worlds/breakroom-dashboard-tour).
2. Click on the **Your Apps tab**.
3. Click the **Re-create Installers** button.

Please note that it may take Breakroom up to 48 hours to re-create your app installers. If you need your app installers sooner, please reach out to our [Customer Success Team](https://docs.breakroom.tech/help/where-to-find-support).
