# Bookmarks and teleport invites

## Overview <a href="#overview" id="overview"></a>

Teleportation lets you travel instantly to different locations both within and between [Regions](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/helpful-terms#region). In this section, we'll take a look at bookmarks and teleport invites and explain how they can be used to get around.

## Bookmarks

Bookmarks are like virtual "pins" tacked on Breakroom's Metaverse map. By creating a bookmark, you can save the coordinates of a particular Region you might like to revisit. You can also [share](#sharing-bookmarks-with-other-users) bookmarks with other users and use them to set specific landing points for any [meetings](https://docs.breakroom.tech/exploring-breakroom/using-the-meetings-window) that you schedule.

### Creating bookmarks

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://1679086873-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5gOE0ivmDtuXfHroTVSx%2Fuploads%2FIabLoauzgJywqk8eO5aL%2FBookmarks_001.jpg?alt=media&#x26;token=16ea778f-cbb3-41b1-8a84-3f5a9ec45331" alt="" width="344"><figcaption><p>Highlighted: The location of the Create Bookmark buttons.</p></figcaption></figure></div>

To create a bookmark, follow these steps.

1. Navigate your avatar to the area you want to bookmark. Keep in mind that the bookmark coordinates will point to the exact point where your avatar is positioned.
2. When your avatar is in the right spot, click the **hamburger menu** in the [top toolbar](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/ui-tour#the-top-toolbar) and then click **Create Bookmark**. (Or click the on-screen **button** if you have it pinned.)
3. In the dialog box that appears, enter a **name** for your bookmark and click the **OK button**. This will create a **bookmark object** in your Inventory.

### Using bookmarks

Once you've created a bookmark, you can use it to travel to a saved area by following these steps.

1. Open your Inventory by clicking the **Inventory button** in the [bottom toolbar](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/ui-tour#the-bottom-toolbar). Click on the **Bookmark category** to expand it.
2. Locate the **bookmark** you want to use and click on it. In the action menu that appears, click the **Teleport button**.

### Editing bookmarks <a href="#editing-bookmarks" id="editing-bookmarks"></a>

There are additional management functions available through the bookmark action menu.

* To rename a bookmark, click the **Rename button** and enter the new name when prompted.
* To rate the quality of a bookmark, click the **Rate button**. Choose your rating, and then click the **OK button**.
* To delete a bookmark from your Inventory, click the **Delete button**.

### Sharing bookmarks <a href="#sharing-bookmarks-with-other-users" id="sharing-bookmarks-with-other-users"></a>

The only way to share a bookmark is by attaching it to an [in-world email](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/communicating-with-other-users#in-world-email). Once the recipient has accepted your attachment, they'll be able to use and edit their copy of the bookmark as described above.&#x20;

To attach a bookmark to an in-world email, follow these steps.

1. Open the email composition window using your [preferred method](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/communicating-with-other-users#sending-email).
2. Click the **Open Inventory button** in the email composition window.
3. An Inventory window will open. Click on **the item** you want to send.
4. If you like, you can set a sale price for the item using either [Silver or Gold currency](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/customizing-your-avatar/using-the-sinewave-shop#breakroom-currencies). If you do this, there are two important things to keep in mind:
   1. Breakroom will take 10% of the selling price as a fee for doing business on the platform.
   2. If the other user declines to purchase the item, they will not receive it.
5. Once you're done composing your email, click the **Send button**.
6. If you *don't* want to sell the attachment, click the **OK button** to confirm your choice.

## Teleport invites

You can meet up with other users in real time by teleporting to their location, or by inviting them to teleport to yours. There are multiple ways to accomplish this.

### Teleporting to other users <a href="#teleporting-to-other-users" id="teleporting-to-other-users"></a>

1. If the other user is listed as a contact in your [People list](https://docs.breakroom.tech/exploring-breakroom/networking-with-other-users/people), click on their **name** and then click **Teleport to User** in the action menu that appears. Your contact will see a pop-up asking them to grant or deny your request.
2. If the other user is not yet one of your contacts, you can use the [**search field**](https://docs.breakroom.tech/getting-started/ui-tour#the-search-bar) to search for a full or partial name. Once you've found the right person, click on their **name** to open their user profile, then click **More > Teleport to User**. The other user will be see a pop-up asking them to grant or deny your request.

### Inviting users to teleport to you <a href="#inviting-users-to-teleport-to-you" id="inviting-users-to-teleport-to-you"></a>

To ask a user to join you, repeat the steps outlined above, but click the **Invite Here button**. The other user will receive your teleport invitation and will have the option to accept or dismiss it.
